After spending 2 years living in okazaki, I never visit inside Okazaki castle which is a symbol of the town itself. why? because I’ve been to nagoya castle which is larger than the okazaki castle, so I never think that visiting okazaki castle would be worth it.
But this time, some organization designed for supporting the foreigner live in okazaki here was having an event there, quite big one because they got tv crew there (I got on the Japanese tv again ). And the good part is that they are free too, so I grab this chance to went there.
I’m not a type of history people so I don’t know what to say about history but I do like to see some ancient armour, sword, etc.
Okay, after the visit. I supposed to go to some japanese’s house to have some dinner. I never went there and I’ve been told to go by bus. so…. I took the bus but after a while I realized I was in the wrong bus.
it’s 17.30 when I get off the bus. but the thing is there will be no return bus not until the next day. so I need to take the path down the hill (it’s in the mountain area). So I went by foot, while trying to call my friend there and of course I get scolded because my mistake . nevertheless 1.5 hours by foot later I finally arrived at the house.
you know this is why I hate the bus in japan. if I went by train, most of it has some route map inside so if I get on the wrong train I could notice easily. but not with the bus. you can’t check if you’re on the right bus or not once you’re inside. There is no route map there. Well but anyway it was a new experience anyway and I got through it
Went to the gundam 30th anniversary last saturday in nagoya. This is the second time I got in a very big line of crowd( the first time is tokyo game show in 2007 ). I need to take a line for 1.5 hours before I get in. I arrived at 11.00 and got inside around 12.30 so the I missed the gackt show.
For the show itself is not really amusing for me, they got 1/12 scale and or 1/10 scale of gundams there, a lot of talk show etc.
But, one thing that really make my day is they have a live music show for earlier gundam anime. I haven’t been to a lot of live show so this is really nice for me.
I haven’t received the pictures from my friend yet, so I can’t give any picts for right now.
Yesterday (18th July 2009) I actually bought my self a new gigs. I’ve been searching (by foot and by internet) for a new guitar for about 3 weeks and finally I decided which one to buy.
For the total spending of 51.345 yen
I got myself :
- guitar : B.C rich asm (assasin model) standard
- zoom multi effect g2.1u
- vox mini amp
-A/C adapter for the multi effect
-2 cables (3 meter)
-B.C. Rich original guitar strap
-Ernie ball strings super slinky
which is a very nice bargain. because the guitar itself if you buy it in retail store in japan, it will costs around 46.000 yen. Luckily for me I found a good music store that sold it for around 31.000 yen so I can spend the budget to buy the rest of the gigs.
my budget is 60.000 yen and I’m quite happy with my purchasing. Yeah finally I could rock hard now ^_^.
●Visiting Hatchou Miso no Kura. This was my second visit, my first visit was almost 2 years ago when I first move to okazaki city. This is a place where the famous miso (japanese kind of soup) is made. The tour explained about the history and how the miso is related to japanese emperor etc but I wasn’t there for the lecture, I was there mainly to eat the miso icecream ^_^
●Second event is a small tanabata matsuri event at local library. it’s very small scale event. And quite short too, but I do enjoy my time there. Basically we just did some mini game, listening to story about tanabata and listening to some japanese playing koto (ancient japanese stringed instrument)
●Third one is the closing event. It was a dinner held by American friend. He invited 3 people including me so the total is 4 people to eat at nearest Yakiniku restaurant. The last time I went to yakiniku restaurant is probably 1.5 years ago. So I did enjoy the meat party
At first I don’t have any plan at all, but at 3rd suddenly one of my brazilian friend invited me to his birthday party at his place on sunday.
Saturday :
Went to library. But the person that I searched for is not available. I was registered to teach a short course of Indonesian Language at october (only 3 times). There is some paper work still need to be finished but unfortunately the person that deal with my paper wasn’t available.
After that I went to music shop. I have interest to buy electric guitar. I don’t know when I will buy it or how much money I want to spend yet. At the music shop I get my chance to test out a 67.000 yen Ibanez.
The day was hot so I went back to my place for a rest. After that I went to my mentor (Mrs Naruse). I promised her before to give her Indonesian peanut sauce. When I went there her husband wasn’t at home. usually I had dinner with 3 of them (the couple and the son). This time there is only 2 of them.
After chit-chat I went home and went to nearest convenience store to buy myself an advanced ticket for 30th anniversary of gundam show that will be hold in nagoya at the end of the month.
Sunday :
I slept at 3 AM and woke up at 9 Am. After breakfast and cleaning up. I went to buy some gift for my birthday friend and went to his place.
Today I have quite a lof of fun. I met a lot of interesting people (most of them are brazilian, some of them are from Peru). Although I don’t speak spanish and portueguese but I enjoyed my time there.
I also met someone that have interest in music like me and tested out his electric guitar. after having a big long meal at his place we went to see the music shop and went to game center. I quite enjoyed myself today. I met people that share common interest with such as game and music.
special note :
Keiji if you read this, 先に帰ってごめん。明日仕事があるから。また誘ってね。今日楽しかった。
The founder of the company where I’m being dispatch has died. He was in the middle of 70’s. Since in this area he’s quite famous (for making one of the biggest company in this area).
Last week the coffin car make a Trip to the whole company (Headquarter and factory all of them around 6 spot in this area). And the whole employee assemble together in the court yard to pay the respect.
After that day, they provide some place (with buddhism way if I’m not mistaken) to mourn for him. basically we need to get our hand at some grain and put it in the place provided.
And yesterday (3rd July) I went to the funeral place to give the flower and last respect. They rent the city hall for full 3 days , the first 2 days is only to for preparation and the 3rd day is the main funeral event. This time they use the internet connection to have teleconference between headquarter and branches in whole japan.
